Hi, teaching world,
Tomorrow I will officially have been teaching for a month. It's already been a month!? It's only been a month!? What a confusing, exciting, exhausting, frustrating, emotional, crazy month this has been! The start of something new. Or many new things. Scary and exhilarating. New area, new job, new living space, new living arrangement, out on my own, new relationships, new community, new friends, new church. So many changes. (Cliche: but God is with me, and He never changes!) This job -- actually, this whole life out here so far -- sometimes just seems like a constant and crazy balancing act of epic proportions. In my lesson planning I need to make material simple enough not to intimidate students and difficult enough to challenge students; with my students I need to be strict enough to create and maintain a consistent and structured learning environment and; with my life I need to balance work and play...
